The following text contains 24 original hex locations and encounters intended for a temperate woodland. Many are folkloric in nature and inspired by the varied peoples and histories of Mercia and wider Britain.  These hexes are written to fill the Arden Wood in The West Midlands but can easily be adapted.

These hexes are written as six miles wide but are also suited for a three mile scale. It takes four hours to travel from one hex to another. Travellers have a 2-in-6 chance of getting lost and moving to a random hex if not travelling with a compass or following landmarks like rivers or hills (which are visible from two hexes away).
